  Those resurrections mentioned in the Bible would be some really good experiences. I do wonder why there is nothing written about what happened to these ones who experienced death and then returned. A witness would say because they were unconscious, but even that info would be important to share. So you died, tell us what happened? Isn't that THE question everyone wants answered. Makes you wonder.

  I like to read about near death experiences, especially from young children. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross wrote a lot about death and dying. The witnesses teach that death is your enemy. I don't see it that way. Everyone dies. I have worked a lot with terminally ill persons and making peace with your own death is something we all need to learn to do.

  Marriage is all about respect and communicating that respect through words and actions. It doesn't sound like much of that is happening. Counseling would be a great way to start an open, real conversation.

  Your job is not just to work and follow a to do list from your wife. Her job is not just to clean house, prepare meals and raise her child. Those are necessary functions to be performed, but have little to do with a real marriage.

  You desperately need some open, heartfelt communication between the two of you. It is difficult because you both feel wounded by the actions of the other. You need a mediator, a neutral third party who has no emotional investment in either side of the marriage.

  I know it is expensive and difficult to arrange, but it sounds like your marriage is slowly withering. If your child was dying from a painful disease, would you worry about the money or difficulties involved in finding the needed treatment? If you want to SAVE your marriage, you are going to give it the same effort.

  I wish you and your wife the very best. Just don't let your marriage die without exploring every treatment option with a professional counselor.

  Jehovah's Witnesses are not well thought of in many countries in both Eastern and Western Europe. These countries tend to not tolerate 2 things. One is the blood issue and the other is the shunning issue. I can't say I am sorry that they see it that way.

  If you could change 2 things in the witness world, what would they be? Blood and shunning would have to be among the top few, for most. Pedophilia has to be up there too, or the way they handle it.

  The only ones I feel sorry for are the children. The worry they put on them is horrible. The article mentions a child begging for their parents not to be taken away. I am sure they discuss this with them ahead of time as a need to be faithful to Jehovah. Sickening.

  Let them read the Bible. They don't need anything else, as they claim to be Bible based. It reminds me of the statement that if a person read only the Bible and not the Watchtower, he would return to mainstream Christian doctrines. I can't remember who said it, Russell maybe?

  I am for freedom, but for everyone, not just one religion. They want 2 sets of rules. They want to break up families and abuse the right of individuals to freely choose how they will worship, but cry out when anyone calls them out on it.

  Thanks for the apology. I have seen JC's up close and personal and it is an ugly process. It is so obviously nothing that comes from God. Men should not treat others with such disrespect. I especially feel for those who are young and are severely treated for youthful indiscretions. Who of us did not make mistakes growing up? So many have been harmed by having their world turned upside down.

  I am always happy to see someone wake up to the moral culpability of judging other people. It is time to get on with the rest of your life. We would all like to see this policy stopped and for the society to say they were WRONG. You were a pawn in their system, they are the evil system that continues to tear families and lives apart.

  What happens when you die?

  i had meant to respond then, but got distracted and then could not find the post again.

  Presciption drug addiction

  i was wondering if any of you have experienced this problem or know of someone that has.

  i know someone with this problem and this person is in counseling and taking medication to fight the cravings, but it's still a constant battle.

  it's my daughter, and i'm desperate for advice.

  With Methadone, she does need to be very careful. Does she have to pass drug screens to get the Methadone? Does she go daily for her dose or does she have a prescription? Not trying to be nosy, just wondering what might help.

  At the clinic I worked at, the doctors would give out scripts, as it was for pain. They would also surprise a patient with a drug test on occasion. They would ask when they took their last dose and then test the blood for the half-life of the drug. They could tell pretty accurately just how much Methadone should be in their bloodstream.

  They would also do other drug screens to see if the patient was using any other substances. Any non-compliance and they would lose their prescription. Another thing to consider would be whether her Methadone dosage is right for her. If not, it can cause cravings that cause her to seek other opiates. The only way to find out would be to honestly talk it over with the doctor.

  Sounds like your daughter might need closer scrutiny, maybe an inpatient treatment program. Opiate addiction is tough. I am not sure putting her on Methadone was a good idea, as it is stronger than Lortabs.

  I hope you can convince her to go for further treatment. Sorry I can't be of more help.

  Hey, sorry, I misread your post. I see you are talking about your daughter. If she was taking them for kidney stones, sounds like the pain is probably resolved. Guess you need to go the route of finding help for addiction. 7 years is quite a while, so she most likely needs help.

  Does she want to stop?
